Ralph F. Weber CLU, is an expert on health insurance.  He is an entrepreneur with innovative ideas for how to make health coverage more affordable, efficient and keep it dynamic and cutting edge.   He is the founder of Medi-bid, a consumer driven exchange for competitively bid medical services.  He’ll talk with us about the Doctor’s Tea Party event coming up in San Diego, August 7th, and his most recent post at Mediblog titled Canadian Physician Warns, “Obamacare Rationing is Inevitable.”

We’ll discuss who is funding the Yes on Prop19 and the No on Prop 19 sides?   Who supports Prop 19, the initiative on the Nov ballot in CA?  What are the arguments for and against Prop 19, and what is the truth of the matter, if you’re a concerned citizen who cares about law and order, and protecting individual citizens from tyranny and crime?

Courtney Balaker, writer, producer and director who is working in Hollywood, joins us to talk about her most recent projects and her experience working in media.  I loved a short film she wrote, produced and directed a few years ago, called Cute Couple.  More than cute, it’s very clever and thought provoking. Sat 7-24-10 Jack Dean joins me to talk about the explosive story that could be the match to ignite a voter’s revolt against the Public Employee Unions and How Race Trumped jobs at the Obama Adminsitration’s commands over GM

Call in number: 1-800-336-2225

My Guest: Jack Dean of Pension Tsunami, on the story about the $800,000.00 annual salary for the City Manager of the City of Bell, CA. Could this be the story that breaks the public employee compensation and pension abuse of the public trust and budgets? Will it be the match that lights a fire under the taxpayers, to cause a productive and revolutionary revolt?
If Bell City Manager retires now, he stands to reap over $30 million dollars in retirement funds. He’s not the only one with outrageous pensions. He’s just the worst case by far, but we’ll look at the more common, and yet still, very unjust overcompensation awarded to various officials and ex-officials, all on the dime of the taxpayer, who is on the hook to pay, no matter what.

Call in number: 1-800-336-2225

My Guests:

Joe Vranich, The Business Relocation Coach on the accelerating epic upswing of businesses with large number of jobs moving out of CA.

Bruce Whitaker, a tax payer hero with a long history as a successful tax fighter and proponent of property rights and personal freedom, on CA Deep Blue Politics: The players, the real dangers of economic destruction of the middle class and jobs in CA, and the possibilities for an effective strategic offense to save the sinking ship California.

About the Finance Reform Bill. Bill Wilson of Americans for Limited Government says thanks to this bill, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), Treasury and Federal Reserve will have the power to tax and spend, seize property and redistribute wealth, monitor individual finances and arbitrarily declare which firms pose “systemic risk,” all without any vote in Congress or the possibility of judicial review. Meanwhile, the legislation does not address one of the root, government causes of the financial crisis.

About my father’s passing on July 1st, and our family’s experience with Hospice Care, which my little sister refers to as the Angel of death, has evolved as a standard industry practice and is an integral part of the Obama Health Care Model passed this year.

CRNtalk.com CRN 1

Saturday Day Show
Guest:
Adam Summers, of The Reason Institute on his
recently published report— How to Fix California’s Pension Crisis. He’ll explain the problem, the history, and the consequences, and how to solve it.

John Lott who missed being with us last week, will be here next Saturday, June 26th. We’ll talk about the third release of his ground breaking book, More Guns, Less Crime, what’s new in the book, and what are the latest most significant developments across the country, in gun laws and rights.

On Moonlighting with Martha, at 8 to 11 pm, PT,
Hot topics include:

* The court ordered vote system which gave only Hispanics 6 votes instead of 1 vote per person, and that elected a Hispanic to the City Council in Port Chester, NY, may be expanded to other cities. Does ethnicity trump principles and values of a candidate? Reverse discrimination? Does this qualify in a Republic with equal protection by the rule of law for every individual person?

*Congress bet on Firms they oversaw,, and won big. Did they serve the voters, or themselves and their “donors”? Legal, yes, morally and ethically OK? We’ll ask Jim Babka on this and other issues he covers concerning the clever devils and their actions in DC.

My Guests:
Jim Babka, President of Downsize DC, on some of the issues they are covering through their membership and on their website, including these latest posts:

* Former FEC Commissioners Oppose DISCLOSE Act
In an article titled, “Chuck Schumer vs. Free Speech,” these former campaign finance law commissioners explain how, “The ‘Disclose’ Act would make election law even more incomprehensible and subject to selective enforcement for political gain.”

* Campaign Finance Laws: Congress Exempts the NRA and AARP from the DISCLOSE Act Your freedoms of speech, press, and association will be burdened by the DISCLOSE Act, while the NRA and AARP will get a free ride.
* The Healthcare Fraud: You Must Remove the Sanction of the Victim Richard Nixon once infamously claimed that “If the president does it, it’s not a crime.” He was wrong. If it would be a crime for you to do something, then it’s also a crime for the politicians to do it, no matter how much they may think otherwise.

Anthony Pignataro of CalWatchDog.com on his recent report on the long dark shadow of the CA High Speed Rail Project. He reports on how the project will crush landowners, and the explosive increase in projected costs to the taxpayers, closer to $81 Billion. People will lose their farms, homes and businesses, and the taxpayers will lose their shirts. For what? The plot thickens. Tune in for an in-depth discussion with Anthony Pignataro.

Guests:

Tony Bushala, Publisher of what deserves to be an award winning blog, Friends For Fullerton’s Future Blog, on some key wins and losses in Orange County, CA. The public employees spent millions in OC, and it paid off in some races, but they lost big in others.

Tony will discuss with us, an O.C.  Supervisorial race that went for the friend of the taxpayer, but in the county sheriff’s race, the man who brought down the corrupt criminal Corona, who respects the 2nd Amendment, who doesn’t go along with false or unsubstantiated criminal charges against a minority who’s an easy target, lost, but not without a fight.

Intimidation and threat of use of force by CHP against Bill Hunt supporters:  Justified? Or violation of civil liberties and rights?

Steve Yuhas, Radio Talk Show Host at KOGO in San Diego, on this Administration’s intent on abolishing Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell U.S. Military policy. He’s a self described conservative, Jewish, disabled former military man, who happens to be gay and has a strong opinion on the matter.

Sat May 29, 2010: CA Water Crisis Recent Stunning Developments, The ESA, EPA and Obama’s New Tack on Cap and Trade, and The CA Pot Initiative and Drug Prohibition

Russ Waymire of Families Protecting the Valley, joins me to talk about the latest developments in the CA Water Crisis, created and perpetuated by the U.S. Congress. A U.S. Judge has temporarily lifted all restrictions on the water flow to the Central Valley, but that can change as early as June 15th.

A panelist studying the decline of native species in the Delta, on the National Academy of Sciences prestigious Delta Panel, which is funded by and answers to Congress, is fired when she publishes a study explicitly concluding that ammonium-laden wastewater discharges from Sacramento, and not the pumps delivering water to the Central Valley Farmers, are at the root of the Delta’s ecological demise.

Patricia Gilbert’s forced resignation caused another panelist, Michael J. McGuire, a water treatment consultant and former assistant general manager at the Metropolitan Water District of Southern CA to resign, leaving the remaining panel of members with fixed points of view focused on water delivery operations as the cause of the Delta’s problems. Their fixed view justifies denying the Central Valley farmers their water allocations.

Meanwhile, Katherine Hart, chairwoman of the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board, is married to a lobbyist for water polluters, from Sacramento Regional County Sanitation District. She is an attorney who represents polluters, but she is allowed to stay on the policing water control board.

On Moonlighting with Martha, from 8 PM to 11 PM PT, Paul Driessen, Senior Policy Adviser for the Committee For A Constructive Tomorrow and Congress of Racial Equality – two nonprofit educational groups that focus on environmental, economic development and human rights issues, joins me to discuss President Obama’s tack to get around a reluctant Congress and implement Cap and Trade Policy by fiat, using the Environmental Protection Agency.

We’ll also talk with Paul about the President’s handling of and reaction to the BP Oil Spill in the Gulf of Mexico.

Driessen has a College degree in geology and ecology from Lawrence U, and a law degree with concentrations in environmental and natural resources law from U of Denver. He has worked for Wyoming state government, an oil and gas trade association, the US Senate, Dept of the Interior and Minerals Management Service. He has been on offshore platform and scuba diving beneath them and has written numerous articles and three book chapters on global warming.

Peter Christ, founding member of Law Enforcement Against Prohibition LEAP, joins me to discuss CA’s Marijuana Initiative on the Nov 2 ballot, and Arizona’s real problem at the border.

“Legalization simply means the elimination of
‘Schedule 1’ – All other discussion is about regulation.”

Peter Christ (pronounced like ‘wrist’) retired as a police captain after a 20-year career enforcing drug laws. From the beginning, Peter believed “the drug war can never be won and it is doing more harm than good.” He is one of LEAPs most experienced speakers, and his presentations are riveting, informative and powerfully compelling.

On the program, Bill Hunt, a 22 year year veteran of the Orange County Sheriff’s Dept in CA, he stood up of for his values and his chosen profession, law enforcement, administration of former Sheriff Michael S. Carona in 2006. That decision cost him his career.

On Moonlighting with Martha, John Seiler of Calwatchdog.com on the Greek fable of bankrupt dysfunctional California, and its stooge legislators, who work desperately to make things worse.

Tony Bushala, founder, publisher, and fellow blogger of Friends for Fullerton’s Future Blog, on the power of blogging to start, fuel and fan brush-fires for limited government. Sat May 15, 2010: Grace Marie Turner on Damages of the Health Care Bill & Richard Rider on Govt Corruption and Incompetence by the numbers

Join me on the air, Saturday from 10 to 11AM and 8 to 11 PM PT, one fast hour in the morning and three fun hours on Saturday night, on CRN, on
CRNtalk.com CRN 1

Call in number: 1-800-336-2225
On the program, Grace Marie Turner, President of the Galen Institute, a public policy research organization that she founded in 1995 to promote an informed debate over free-market ideas for health reform.
She has been instrumental in developing and promoting ideas for reform that transfer power over health care decisions to doctors and patients.

“As more details emerge about the massive 2,700-page health overhaul law, even those who supported its passage are shocked by its sweeping implications and reach into every corner of our lives and society. For example, small-business owners are telling members of Congress they are terrified about the risks the law presents to their ability to keep and hire workers — imperiling the nation’s already fragile economic recovery.

Major companies are beginning to recognize the extraordinary risk of continuing to provide health benefits for their workers under Obamacare. “Many companies are examining a course that was heretofore unthinkable, dumping the health care coverage they provide to their workers in exchange for paying penalty fees to the government,” according to Fortune magazine, which reviewed internal company documents.

Many Americans wondered why Congress was in such a rush to take the final vote on ObamaCare at midnight on a Sunday night when most of its major programs don’t begin until 2014. It’s now clear that Democratic leaders feared their members might balk if they saw the objective analysis that was being prepared showing the overhaul law’s true costs. Their concerns were validated when a respected, non-partisan analyst issued a report one month after the law was enacted.” (from the Galen Institute Website)

Saturday night, on Moonlighting with Martha, According to Rasmussen, the number one issue to voters today is Government Corruption and their void of ethics. Number two is the economy, and that includes jobs.
Richard Rider, Taxpayer Hero extraordinaire
, joins me to entertain you with his wit, his charm and his take no prisoners knowledge, analysis and reporting on the ugly state of affairs in CA compared to the rest of the country, and even how CA stacks up to other countries around the globe for worst and most unstable economy. We’ll also cover this San Diego Tax fighters recommendations on the CA Statewide Propositions!!!! Delicious!

Immigration is up in priority with voters, but still behind government corruption, the economy, national security, and health care. For some though, saying Illegal Immigration is like yelling “Squirrel!” A leftist Latino teacher spews revolution against the U.S. and capitalism, and Mary Anastasia O’Grady zeros in on the drug wars, the cartels and the root of the rise in violent crimes Arizonans are suffering. Let’s talk.

Sat April 10, 2010: Bruce Bialosky on Topsy Turvy Govt Fiscal Policy, Alvaro Vargas Llosa on PIGS and Euros, Ralph Benko on Tea Partiers v. The Man

Join me on the air, Saturday from 10 to 11AM PT and Moonlight with Martha from 8 to 11 PM PT, on CRN, on
CRNtalk.com CRN 1

Call in number: 1-800-336-2225
This Saturday, Bruce Bialosky, long-time political activist, a CPA, a former National Treasurer of the Republican Jewish Coalition, a co-founder of the Republican Jewish Coalition’s Southern California Chapter, and a big Johnny Depp fan, wrote in a column on April 2nd in The Flashreport, “…I recently saw Mr. Depp’s newest film, Alice in Wonderland. This turned out to be a fitting end to a month filled with utter exasperation — caused principally by the assessment for the first time of the California Use Tax on small businesses.”

California is broke. It has the largest debt of any of the bankrupt States, and the fourth highest unemployment in the country. Hitting the small businesses up for more is absurd. He’ll explain how this new tax works and how many small businesses are not even aware of it, as of yet, and tax day is just around the corner.

Bruce is lauded as a man who makes numbers easy to understand.

Alvaro Vargas Llosa, Senior Fellow with the Independent Institute, author, and nationally syndicated columnist with The Washington Post Writer’s Group, talks with us about the PIGS (Portugal, Italy, Greece and Spain) and Euros, Cuba’s True Martyrs, and a few words on today’s immigration debate.

Then moonlight with me for more fun: Ralph Benko of Parcbench.com, author of The Websters Dictionary: How to use the web to transform the world, and a principal of Capital City Partners, of Washington D.C., on “It’s Tea Partiers and Republicans against the Elitists Democrats” and how “Obama’s elitism will be his Apolcalypse.” Benko is a delight, and fun to moonlight with.

Bruce Bialosky comes back for an encore. Health Care for CPAs. As a politically involved person, he has often been asked why he became a CPA. His answer has always been clear ans simple–the public policy of this country runs through the tax code and he wanted to understand that code. Never in his 35-year practice has anything validated that decision like the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. This is not health care reform;it is a full-employment act for CPAs.

Sat April 3, 2010: Robert H. Nelson on Is Environmentalism the New Religion? & The Pesky Race Card–refuge of scoundrels.

Join me on the air, Saturday from 10 to 11AM PT and Moonlight with Martha from 8 to 11 PM PT, on CRN, on
CRNtalk.com CRN 1

Call in number: 1-800-336-2225

This Saturday: Californians may or may not undo AB32, California’s version of the Obama Administration’s plan for Cap and Trade, to fight “Climate Change.” Obama is now dissembling on Energy Policy, using the buzz words that sooth the energy industry and all of it’s consumers, ie, the job producers and the common folks.

My guest, Robert H. Nelson, Author and Senior Fellow with the Independent Institute joins me to address the question, Is Environmentalism the New Religion. We’ll talk about his new book, The New Holy Wars: Economic Religion vs. Environmental Religion in Contemporary America. I’ll ask him about AB32, the President’s latest bone to the business class and consumers.

If you can’t beat ’em smear’em–that’s the idea behind that unscrupulous invocation of the Race Card and there’s been a whole lot it going around lately.
Michael Steele, the first black American to chair the National Republican Party has presided over a lot of frivolous, wasteful and inappropriate spending of donor funds. He’s is a weak link at a time when the GOP should be at the top of it’s game. As the chorus of voices rises for his departure, he’s resorted to the race card.
On the other side, Obama’s handmaidens, his adoring-myopic-journalism-school-trained-main-stream media are writing commentaries accusing Tea Party Activists of being motivated by racism.

Meg Whitman, GOP candidate for Governor in CA is being accused of not really being a friend of Latinos, because out of the 366 managers she hired when she worked for E-bay, in Silicon Valley, zero were Latino. So that’s it? That makes her a racist?

And finally, what about Abel Maldonado? His self proclaimed appeal to and common cause with Latino voters, and the Democratic Party’s race card politics, sending out Latino union-bought-stooge-State Legislators to say Abel’s not Latino enough.

Then moonlight with me for more fun: Ralph Weber joins me on more fallout about the Health Care bill and Humberto Fontova on Apple and other useful idiots who idealize the terrorist racist murderous thug revolutionary communist known to all simply, affectionately, as Che.
Hour 1:  Humberto Fontova

Hour 2: Ralph Weber Part 1
Hour 3: Ralph Weber part 2 (first 20 minutes of the the second hour)

It’s a lot of laid back talk, and some rough and tumble politics to sharpen your saw. Tonight, more on the Health Care Bill’s effects on you, and how some activists beat down the Left’s grab at a their entire county’s property rights.

My guests tonight are Brian Mathias, on a trial balloon CA Senate Bill SB 211, that had it passed, and not been defeated, it would have converted every inch of Santa Cruz County into an Open Space District, wiping out the individual property rights of all it’s residents, in one fell swoop. Mr. Mathias was a leader in it’s defeat, but wants to warn citizens around the country, because Santa Cruz is one of the test pilot sites from which all bad leftist ideas are spawned, take root and grow into state wide and national trends from the Left.

SB 211 would have changed current California law governing the formation of open space districts. There is a specific process in California law for the creation of open space districts, with defined limits. However, SB 211 changed this law, creating a special exception for the formation of an open space district in Santa Cruz. This approach is a common way of forming open space bureaucracies.

Recap on the Healthcare Vote: “LET’S ZOOM OUT FOR A MOMENT.”

Many Americans are confused. Some questions on their minds:

1. WHOA! What the heck just happened on Health Care – and HOW did it
happen politically, constitutionally?

2. How will the new government mandates affect my own health care?

3. Are my taxes going to go up?

4. Did Congress just commit political suicide?

5. Will America’s latest ‘pro-lifer’ (Obama, since he passed a pro-life executive order) keep his end of the bargain? Or will he or someone else reverse it as quickly as it was issued?

Lively, funny, and extraordinarily well-informed, JAMES LANSBERRY – Health care and tax policy expert – has the answers, KNOWS THE DIRTY DETAILS and makes sense of the madness. James is a DC outsider whose articles have been published worldwide. He takes a common-sense, free-market approach on health care… And his revelations on health care, and on the vote, may even infuriate your listeners. He’s the President of the Alliance of Health Care Sharing Ministries and has been a guest on CBS Evening News, US News and World Report, the Washington Post, etc., etc.

Sat March 27, 2010: Greg Scandlen on the Immediate Impact of Health Care Reform & Tony Quinn on a win-win paradigm for Republicans and Latino Voters

Greg Scandlen, senior fellow of The Heartland Institute and founder and Director of Consumers for Health Care Choices, a non-partisan, non-profit membership organization aimed at empowering consumers in the health care system, joins us to talk about the immediate impact of the epic Health Care Bill, what the insurance companies and the health care industry in general are scrambling to digest, and comply with, and what that means to consumers, employees and employers.

Tony Quinn, an editor with California Target Book, an authority on California political trends and demographics, wrote a scathing piece on Steve Poizner, accusing him of resorting to race baiting, and immigrant bashing, to try to save his failing campaign for Governor.

While the center-right watches in horror as the Left muscles through a monumental, epic transformation of our Nation’s health care system and economy, many on the right fail to see their own suicidal march as they bare down on their position, rhetoric and message, implying all Hispanic immigrants who are illegally here are the same, and want the same thing, welfare, ignoring the fact that many flee the tyranny of the Left in their countries, many are entrepreneurs, as is the history of our Country, and many share the values an principles of the Center-right.

Republicans cannot win a national election without courting this demographic group, and mining at least 43 to 45% of Latino voters who share their aspirations to live free, be entrepreneurs, be self reliant and to prosper. In California, a Republican cannot win a statewide election without winning this percentage of the Latino vote.

Yet some Republican candidates continue to act as if this were merely a matter of opinion, much to their own demise, and, to the disastrous misfortune of all of us, who desperately want to unseat the Left which is firmly in power. They’re stuck in a paradigm that has no possibility and is a self-inflicted self-destruction, a self destructive fallacy.

Sat March 2, 2010: The Congress Created Dust Bowl and the Health Care “Reform” Thugs, & The Drug Wars in Mexico Intensify.

This past Saturday I moderated a panel on the Congress Created Water Crisis at the CA GOP Convention. Russ Waymire, on the Congress Created Drought, the panel, and Pelosi’s bribe to Congressmen Costa and Cardoza, announced by Sec of Interior Salazar. A thuggish maneuver: Vote yes on Health Care Bill and your Central Valley will get an increase in the pittance of the water allocation you’ve been receiving. So much for the hallowed Delta smelt and the Endangered Species Act. It’s all about the power.

Russ has co-chaired his local Farm Bureau Water Committee and has attended numerous water meetings with politicians and Natural Resource Agencies in California and Washington D.C. Om 2009, he was appointed Agriculturalist of the Year for Kings County.

Walter M. McKay, Law Enforcement Against Prohibition LEAP member, and currently is the Project Director for the Instituto para la Seguridad y la Democracia, A.C. (INSYDE), in Mexico, joins me to discuss the recent escalation of violence in Mexico, with the murder of two U.S. Consulate employees this past week. We’ll talk about the murders along the border, particularly the most recent, the political spin and reaction about them, and the best remedy to end the murders and the violence.

“Mexico now ranks behind only Pakistan and Iran as the administration’s top international security concern.

Despite the rising death toll, drug war hawks at the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) remain adamant that the United States’ and Mexico’s “supply side” strategies are in fact successful. “Our view is that the violence we have been seeing is a signpost of the success our very courageous Mexican counterparts are having,” acting DEA administrator Michele Lionhart said recently. “The cartels are acting out like caged animals, because they are caged animals.” President Obama also appears to share this view. After visiting with the Calderón government in April, he told CNN he intended to “beef up” security on the border. When asked whether the administration would consider alternative strategies, such as potentially liberalizing pot’s criminal classification, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano replied that such an option “is not on the table.”–Paul Armentano, in The Freeman online
Is it safer, and more effective, cost wise, and to help drug abusers, victims and their families, if we end Prohibition?

Sat March 6, 2010: Steve Moore of WSJ on Perils of CA Model for the rest of the US, Milton Friedman’s Chile, & Senator Corker’s Rogue Move on Fianance Reform!

Join me on the air, Saturday at 10 AM PT on CRN, on
CRNtalk.com Channel 1

Call in number: 1-800-336-2225
Steve Moore, of the WSJ’s Editorial Board, and author of  The End of Prosperity will talk with us about David Wessel’s WSJ piece on Thursday on “The Californization of Washington,” California’s political economic model, bodes ill for the U.S.’s political economic future. How does it break it down, and can we reverse the trend?

Also, Senator Corker (R- Tennessee) goes rogue and huddles with Senator Chris Dodd to craft a monstrous financial reform bill.

The house bill is a 1279 page monstrosity called the ““Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act.”” Reform? Yes. Helpful? Depends on the definition of helpful. It makes bailouts permanent policy for the US Economy and David Reilly reported the U.S.Rep bill calls for more than a dozen agencies to create a position called “director of Minority and Women Inclusion” as part of it’s solutions. People in these posts will be presidential appointees.

We’ll ask Steve about these developments, and also, we’ll talk with Steve about Chile’s experience with the quake last week, versus Haiti’s and how Milton Friedman’s Chicago School of Economics trained “Chicago Boys” had crafted and put in place, economic policy that helped fuel Chile’s economic boom and development, that prepared the country to weather the earthquake disaster with dramatically better results than that suffered by the Haitian’s at the hands of Haiti’s much weaker earthquake 2 weeks earlier.

Serafin Quintanar, the son of a legal Bracero farm worker who became a U.S. Citizen, and his mother who migrated to CA from Texas, is a Republican candidate running for Congress in the 20 district in CA. He is challenging incumbent Democrat, Jim Costa. We’ll talk with Serafin, for a profile into his background, journey his principles and motivation. We’ll ask him if the politically created water crisis in the Central Valley has changed the political landscape.

Sat Feb 20, 2010: Law Enforcement Agents for Ending Prohibition & CA’s Republican Party Registration Numbers Drop Further. How to Stop the Bleeding:

LEAP‘s Kyle Kazan on U.S. and Mexico’s Drug War, Mexico’s instability, and our U.S.-Mexico Border violence. Is it time to end Prohibition in the U.S.?

Also, is a state with a large and growing Latino population condemned to a liberal/leftist political balance of power?
(Update, Feb 20, 2010, I didn’t get to this topic today. The War on Drugs, or Prohibition generated a lot of passion and discussion and took the hour. I’ll visit this topic next week.)
Last week, Allan Hoffenblum published a follow up to his post from a year ago on Fox and Hound. He called it California’s Plummeting GOP Registration-Part 2. The GOP voter registration numbers in CA, have declined even further, since his original post on this topic a year ago.

With a leftist dominated Legislature and Congressional delegation, and growing percentage of young Latino voters, is there hope for change to the political balance of power in CA? Latino voters have voted Republican in significant numbers in the past. Why have their numbers dropped off so dramatically in the Republican Party? Can there be a shift in the political balance of power in CA without winning 40 to 45% of the Latino vote?

Can Latino voters be won over, in large enough numbers to make a difference? If so, how?
Here’s a little inspiration and example: I love George Strait. He’s a cowboy, a vaquero, and he gets the connection. I love his interpretation of this song. This is a song that everybody knows or has at least heard it played in a family venue, if you’ve grown up with any Mexican heritage. The composer, Jose Alfredo Jimenez is considered a great of Mexico’s musical heritage, and this beloved song is called The King, El Rey. Strait sings it with as best an accent as he can muster, and with all his heart, and he cuts straight to my heart, his love, undeniable.

Sat Feb 6: Public Unions Ascend to Outnumber Private Sector Unions, & Sink CA’s Economy| Also an Extra 3 Hr Special 8-11PM Hot Topics & Guests

Join me on the air, Saturday at 10 AM PT on CRN, on
CRNtalk.com Channel 1

Mark Bucher joins me to discuss California’s Economic Crisis, the causes, and a Citizen Power Campaign Intiative to shift power back to the citizens, away from the Public Employee Unions that dominate the State Government at every level.

Public employee union membership now outnumbers private sector union membership. This is a first time ever on record. The impact of this ascendancy is glaringly evident in California. The impact of this turn in the balance of power shows a destructive and unsustainable financial drain across the Country.

Saturday night I fill in for Nicole Bella Remini on CRN Digital Talk, CRN 1 from 8 pm to 11 pm Pacific Time. Please join me again.

Tea Party Patriot Ben Bergquam joins me. The Tea Party Movement is having their 1st ever, National Convention, this weekend. This movement’s impact is quantifiable and undeniable. Ben will talk with us about the national movement, and because he is based in CA, he’ll talk about the issues the Tea Party Patriots in CA have in their frontsight for CA: Public Employee Unions, their unfunded pensions, hiring and salaries exceeding the private sector, dominating power over legislators and government officials.

Tea Party Patriots were a lethal force against Government run health care legislation passing in Congress, unless the Congress acts in an extraordinary run around rules and procedures.
The most progressive (Leftist) individual States have passed or are attempting to pass their own versions of government run health care. Cap and Trade is dead in the Congress thanks to the scare Democrats have finally responded to, but it took three major earthquake-upset-elections in New Jersey, Virginia, and finally, Ted Kennedy’s seat going to a Jack Kennedy Republican, Scott Brown.

CA’s own version of Cap and Trade law, AB 32, and Federal EPA Agency and the Democrat Controlled U.S. Congress are distroying CA’s largest private sector industry–Agriculture. We’ll hear from Bergquam on the way radical environmentalists in Washington D.C. are using environmental laws to kill this vital artery of CA’s economic engine, and how CA Democratic Congressmen and Senators in DC are doing nothing to stop them and we’ll review the initiatives and races in the frontsight of the CA Tea Party Movement activists.

Andrew Klavan, author of The Long Way Home, talks with us about his latest novel, and his big beef with the hugely successful AVATAR and director James Cameron, his problems with The Hurt Locker, and Quentin Trantino’s Inglorious Bastards, all three contenders for Best Picture this year, all three, according to Klavan, push a strong Anti-American message.

Sat Jan 30, 2010: Is the Water Crisis over? & Three Victories by The Man over the Taxpayer–Grrrr

Join me on the air, Saturday at 10 AM PT on CRN, on
CRNtalk.com Channel 1
Call in number: 1-800-336-2225

Fred Starrh, operates a family farm in the southern part of the Central Valley, in Kern County.  He sits on the Kern County Water Agency and he will give us an update on the Water Crisis in the Central Valley.

On Monday, January 25th, Republican Members of Congress hosted a Water Forum in Fresno, CA, addressing the San Joaquin Valley water crisis. Secretary Salazar turned down an invitation to participate in this forum or to send a representative from the Department of the Interior.

Hundreds of farmers and residents from throughout the Central Valley also attended a rare congressional hearing on water, in Los Angeles, also held on Jan 25th.  Secretary Salazar skipped that hearing too but the next day Salazar announced additional steps to assist The Central Valley Project water users. “To assist farmers in the short term, Secretary Salazar announced that 350,000 to 400,000 acre-feet of water will be made available for West Side farmers by March 1, the beginning of the contract water year.”

Only problem is that the “additional water allocation” is not a real additional water allocation, but is in fact a carryover of water, farmers paid for and never received, last year. The spin flies. Many in the State of CA and throughout the nation think the problem is solved, but the truth is far from it. The truth is dire for the people in the Central Valley where unemployment is upward of 16%. Families have lost their homes, jobs, and businesses. Their way of life is drying up.

Fred was on the Jan 25th water panel in Fresno, along with Congressman Tom McClintock. The key point in his presentation: There was legislation introduced in Congress last year, to lift the restrictions put in place by the Endangered Species Act. Both Senators Boxer and Feinstein, voted against it, even though they voted for a similar legislation in New Mexico. The most eye opening statement Fred made was that his family paid over $1.6 million dollars for water last year, for water that they did not receive.

When farms and cities in Kern County have to pay $100 million dollars for water they do not receive, it robs the county of probably $500 million in economic activity including lost jobs, property taxes, and sales taxes.  Some projections now are that farmers, despite the rainfall this year are being told they will get little more than 10 percent of their normal allocations.

On Dec. 15, the Kern County Water Agency’s water resource managers stated that if 2010 is a normal water year in the state and all the existing restrictions remain in place, we could receive as little as a 20 percent water allocation. If the restrictions are removed, we could see as much as a 70 percent water allocation.

Richard Rider, Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association Taxpayer Hero of the Year for 2009, joins me to talk about these three setbacks for taxpayers this week, including a victory by the Public Employee Unions over the taxpayers in Oregon. The WSJ called it a “Taxpayer Ambush in Oregon.” The public employee unions in CA see this as a game changing strategy that will work to convince voters in CA to say yes to raising taxes, and support their power, spending, unsustainable pensions, and benefits.

Is Schwarzenegger back to reigning in the public employee unions and the unsustainable spending they push and cause in CA? Will this new old Arnold help or hurt The Citizen Power Campaign?

Obama has given CA the rope it needs to hang itself. Jon Coupal says “Obama’s decision to give California’s controversial High Speed Rail project a $2.25 billion boost could also be called Cash For Clunkers, Part Deux.”

Sat Jan 23, 2010: DeVore, Chuck Devore–Barbara Boxer should be quaking in her flats. And other developments on the Political Scene.

Join me on the air, Saturday at 10 AM PT on CRN Digital Talk Radio, on

CRNtalk.com CRN 1Call in number: 1-800-336-2225
On Tuesday, Jan 19th, the SF Chronicle reported, Tight Massachusetts race alarms CA Dems. San Francisco’s Mayor Gavin Newsom said “Regardless of the outcome … this should be a gigantic wake-up call to the Democratic Party – that we’re not connecting with the needs, the aspirations and the desires of real people right now.”

How rattled were the CA Democrats? On Wednesday, the next day after the Massachusetts Tea Party, the Democrat Majority Legislature resurrected and passed out of committee, a state version of Universal Health Care, including the equivalent of the public option. California is reeling from an 11 percent unemployment, the highest taxes in the country next to NYC, its own version of Cap and Trade, regulatory power crazed agencies that wield and exercise crippling power, a public employee pension crisis that is on the verge of exploding the budgets of countless cities and counties throughout the State, a deficit that is over $20 billion dollars and a $42 billion dollar debt.

Barbara ‘call me senator’ Boxer is looking vulnerable, although the Dems in CA still don’t get it, and the political class in CA is still looking at the race for U.S. Senate through the old paradigm.

GOP strategist Dan Schnur, who directs the University of Southern California’s Unruh Institute of Politics, said DeVore is the GOP contender most likely to attract the Tea Party-generated “money bombs” like those that buoyed Brown.
Some believe Boxer in November would rather run against DeVore — an arch-conservative less likely to attract independent and crossover voters — than the wealthier Fiorina or the more socially moderate and experienced Campbell, although Schnur said each candidate has strengths.

A Rasmussen Reports poll of 500 likely voters conducted last week showed Boxer leading Fiorina by three percentage points; leading Campbell by four; and leading DeVore by six in head-to-head matchups. But sources said Wednesday that a forthcoming Field Poll will show Boxer with a 10-point lead over Campbell, and wider leads over Fiorina and DeVore.
Mercury News, Jan 20, 2010

“Arch conservative?” Tea Party movement members have demonstrated their numbers and power in CA already, this past May 19th, when they soundly defeated Prop 1A, a tax initiative on the ballot in a special statewide election, that would have increased taxes another $16 Billion. The political class was stunned.

Will the Tea Party activists voters, and the independents pull a Scott Brown in CA in November, and stick it to The Man?   Will DeVore be their choice to fight against the machine? How does the Supreme Court’s decision on Thursday, to strike down McCain-Feingold, impact the prospects for this race?

Join me for a conversation with Assemblyman Chuck DeVore, Barbara “call me Senator” Boxer’s very own Scott Brown. He doesn’t have an underwear photo spread in Cosmo, but he is a Renaissance, James Bond, Dos X like man.  He is the one candidate who fits the bill for the independents and Tea Party Activist voters who are rebelling against the Political Machine.

Join me on the air, Saturday at 10 AM PT on CRN Digital Talk Radio, on

Lee Kurisko M.D. was born and raised in Canada and worked for 13 years in its health care system, first as a family practice and emergency room physician before beginning his career as a Diagnostic Radiologist.

Kurisko was an advocate of universal health care for most of his life, until he became aware of the economic, logistical and even moral limitations of providing health care under the heavy weight of a government-controlled, single payer system. In 2001, he moved with his wife and two children to the United States to practice medicine in a market-based system where doctors can make life-saving and long-term care decisions based on patient need, and personal freedom is respected. We’ll talk with Kurisko about why this battle is so monumentally important.

Sat, 12-26-2009: David J. Theroux, on Ayn Rand’s and C. S. Lewis’ Philosophies and the Assault by Congress, on the American Spirit

Join me on the air, Saturday at 10 AM PT on CRN Digital Talk Radio, on
CRNtalk.com CRN 1
Call in number: 1-800-336-2225

My guest David J. Theroux is the Founder, President and Chief Executive Officer of The Independent Institute, a Libertarian think tank based in Oakland, CA.  He is an accomplished scholar, writer and is the Founder and President of the C. S. Lewis Society of California.

Atlas Shrugged, as of this post, is at #22 on Amazon’s Best Seller List, a list updated hourly.  It has been number 1 several weeks on many charts, throughout this year.  It sold record numbers in 2009.  The surge in sales began in late 2008, following the TARP Bill,  and then accelerated with the advent and passage of the Stimulus Bill of 2009.  People are looking for answers, clarity, and words to describe and understand what happened and what is happening to us, and to our social political economy today.  They find voice and reason in Atlas Shrugged.

How do Christian Libertarians reconcile the philosophy of Objectivism entombed in Atlas Shrugged with their Christian faith, with integrity? For insight I turn to C. S. Lewis.

Indeed, C. S. Lewis’s books sell at an astounding rate worldwide, and in his extensive and immensely popular work, he very effectively champions objective truth, goodness, natural law, literary excellence, reason, science, individual liberty, personal responsibility, and Christian faith. (C. S. Lewis Society of CA)

Ayn Rand Institute Scholar Edwin Locke, in his description of the Institute’s course called  “Christianity vs. Objectivism: Which is the Proper Philosophy for Living on Earth?” …argues that only Objectivism, the philosophy of Ayn Rand, provides a code of morality suitable for living successfully and happily on earth. Objectivism holds that reality is real, that reason is man’s only means of knowing it and that one should act in one’s own rational self-interest, with rationality being the highest virtue. Life is the objective standard of morality. In contrast,  Christianity asserts that reality is governed by supernatural forces, that knowledge is based on faith and that the highest moral virtue is self-sacrifice. It will be shown that Christianity cannot be practiced consistently, destroys the integrity of man’s mind, and is incompatible with living successfully and happily in the real world.

I invited  Mr. Theroux to help deconstruct the assertion made by Locke, above, and to help readers reconcile the truth we find Atlas Shrugged with Christian Faith.

Sat. Dec 19, 2009: Ralph F. Weber CLU on the Impact the Health Reform Bill will Have on State Budgets, Job Market, Our National Economy

Join me on the air, Saturday at 10 AM PT on CRN Digital Talk Radio, on
CRNtalk.com CRN 1
Call in number: 1-800-336-2225
My guest, Ralph F. Weber CLU is an expert on health insurance. He is an entrepreneur with innovative ideas for how to make health coverage more affordable, efficient and keep it dynamic and cutting edge. We’ll discuss the myths and fallacies of Universal Health Care, and of the Health Reform Plan the current administration is attempting to ram through, no matter what, as soon as possible. Why the hurry? If the Senate and House leaders get their way how will this impact you?
Discover the Marketplace for Medicine, where the best ideas, services and practices are given place to rise to the top and meet the real time demands of the patient/consumer. Can we have solid and exceptional health care for the American People based on free market principles? Is that possible? Is it moral and ethical?
Perhaps the most serious unknown cost of federal health care oversight is the loss of what we used to call the American Spirit. This is the idea that individuals are free to pursue their own destinies, with government kept as far-removed from daily lives as possible. The American Spirit celebrates life, rather than regulates it. The American Spirit is a spirit of individualism and even nonconformance, not communalism and compliance— Dave Racer

Click here to visit Ralph F. Weber’s website and here to visit his blog, for information and analysis of the fatal impact this historic Health Reform Bill would have on our American Spirit– Without our American spirit, we are but slaves.

Sat Dec 5, 2009: Will the American Independent Small Business Truck Driver be Wiped Out on Dec 31, With Nary A Whimper From the American People?

They’re the best jobs for the free spirited souls who love the freedom of driving the open highways to deliver the goods to Americans across the fruited planes. They love their homes away from home. They’re rugged, self-reliant, impervious to the harshest weather conditions. They even have a hit show on the History Channel called Ice Road Truckers.

Who would question the soundness of a name like “The Clean Truck Program” or the innocuous name of the “California Air Resource Board?” Yawn… Your eyes glaze over? Want to hit delete or the channel button? WAIT!

Come with me to the ports of San Pedro and Long Beach, in Los Angeles County, where this story, which rivals the corruption and fraud of Big Business and Big Government in Redevelopment, to rob property from the defenseless under the guise of “Homeland Security” and the “Environment.” Call it a modern day classic story of On the Water Front.

The only thing “Green” about the CLEAN TRUCK PROGRAM is the millions of dollars made by the major trucking companies, including a billionaire, under this program.

Why haven’t you heard about it? What? The media black out a story that only hurts small independent business owners, including women and minorities? Shocking! Not.

Why is the Independent Trucking Industry the only industry targeted by the State of California, City of Los Angeles, Port of Los Angeles, City of Long Beach, Port of Long Beach for such draconian execution of admission to port and rail way commerce?

The December 31, 2009 deadline against the Independent Rail/Trucking Industry will create the worst economic disaster the State has ever experienced. How?
Anthony G. Patchett retired Special Assistant and Assistant Head Deputy District Attorney, for Los Angeles County, in the Environmental Crimes/OSHA Division and Political Consultant Sofia G. Quiñones, a long time community activist and current coordinator who forged the coalition amongst the National Port Drivers Association and the Northern California Rail and Truckers Association.
are my guests.

I’ll also talk about ClimateGate, the emails, the fallout, Google’s and others efforts to damper the story down.

Sat Nov 21, 2009: Humor cuts to the chase. Be political activists or have fun with friends? Do both! & Jack Dean on Taming the Pension Tsunami

Tony Bushala is one of the founders of a gem blog, Friends for Fullerton’s Future Blog, a.k.a. FFFFB, an effective local blog and guerilla marketing strategy to whip elected officials honest, slap strays in line, or remove them, and prevent carpetbaggers from swooning in to capitalize on a favorable voter registration base.

It helps to start out with a voter friendly base, but even so, political machines of any party can become compromised and piggy. The City of Fullerton, CA resides in Assembly District 72, in Orange County, CA, with a roughly 43% to 34% Republican over Democrat advantage. It’s enough of a lead that party bosses for the dominant party can take their base for granted, grow fat, and abusive of their power.

At the top of their blog their mission statement says it all: Friends for Fullerton’s Future supports candidates and causes that promote intelligent, responsible and accountable government in Fullerton and Orange County.

We’ll hear about some of their most current successes affecting policy issues, and appointed and elected government officials. What do they do? How do they do it? What does it take? And can you replicate this strategy in your community? You’ll love the message and the messenger! The methodology they use is smart, in your face, good old fashion muckraking, hilarious clever humor, strategic cross marketing and low budget strategic advertising. Be inspired! Be empowered! “All politics are local”–Here’s how to fight the Machine and be a happy warrior!

Jack Dean, of Pension Tsunami and Californians for Pension Reform joins us to give us an update on the campaign to reign in the runaway train that is the Public Employee Pension Fund Gravy Train.

Sat Nov 14, 2009: Feel under seige? Don’t know how much of your $ “the Man” will let you keep, to get by? Time to Unplug The Political Machine!

Had enough? There’s a new game in town! It’s big. In California it’s called The Citizen Power Campaign. It’s purpose: Unplug the Political Machine! If you’re not in CA, listen up, because the political machine that is sucking us dry is well established and expanding where you live too.

Public Employee Unions are now the most powerful special-interest group in Sacramento because they have special powers that no one else has.
Join me with my guest Mark Bucher to discuss what exactly is the problem? And what’s the solution?

You want to make a difference, have a purpose, produce measurable results? Make politicians accountable to the voters? Good. Listen up.

Dr Jane Orient, Executive Director for the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons joins us to share the massive amount and type of backlash they are witnessing from doctors against the AMA, for their endorsement of the Health Care Bill.

I’ll also give you a brief report on my experience with Babe’s with Bullets (TM) Ladies Action Shooting Camp this past week. It was a blast! I learned a lot. Without discipline, focus, practice and repetition to ingrain the right habits, one can not succeed, but with the right skills, the commitment to learn them, to practice and to be responsible and accountable, target range accuracy becomes the rule. I’m going back for more in April, to accomplish my goal to perform at the level of excellence.

Marcia Fritz will be on the air again Saturday night on CRN Digital Talk Radio on the Nicole Bella Remini Show with guest host Martha Montelongo. The show airs from 8-11 pm Pacific, and Marcia will be on during the 10 pm hour. She’ll be talking about the two pension reform ballot initiatives just filed by CFFR with California’s Attorney General.

My special guests include Eric Singer of the “Congressional Effect Fund” on how Obama’s Pay Czar is driving talent away, and killing value for the companies which received TARP monies. We’ll also ask him about Congress’s plan to re-energize the the Community Reinvestment Act–the same act that brought us the housing market bubble, and credit market meltdown. It promises to usher in the next mortgage and credit crisis in the name of “helping to stimulate” the economy. With the Government buying up mortgages how do we really know the value of the market or how it’s doing?

Marita Noon, Executive Director of Citizens for Responsible Energy, on the U.S. House Democrats recent passing the Climate Change bill out of committee, despite a boycott of the bill by Republicans. Is there any fall out for the Dems, for this heavy handed maneuver? What’s in the bill? What’s the status, now, and how has it been affected by the recent elections where a lot of Democrats in races, up and down, lost big.

In July, Sacramento State published a study that predicted California’s version of Cap and Trade, AB32, would cost millions of jobs and billions of dollars to small businesses, the bulk of job creators and providers in the CA economy. It caused quite a debate, but it’s still in force, and its impact is just hitting hard, to businesses, their employees, and consumers, and overturning it is a daunting task.

Marcia Fritz, President of Californians for Pension Reform, will talk with us about the two new Pension Reform Ballot Initiatives for CA, to reform public employee pension policy for future hires, and how taxpayers/voters can put the brakes on this runaway train.

There are over 9000 CalPERS and CalSTRS members combined in the $100,000 Pension Club, and a large 40 to 50 percent of current public employees with these absurd defined-benefit-taxpayer-obligated pensions in CA, are slated to retire in the next five to seven years.
What do we do to change an unsustainable level of future pension obligations? Ms Fritz has got a plan.

Live from the Conference on Property Rights Abuse sponsored by MORR (Municipal Officials for Redevelopment Reform), we’ll talk with two of the featured guest speakers concerning the abuse of redevelopment that went into securing the land for the stadium to be built in the City of Industry, the costs to taxpayers for municipal stadiums and the arguments for revenues and jobs they are said to generate.

My two guests will be Dr. Victor M. Valle, Cal Poly Professor, Pulitzer Prize-winning, former Los Angeles Times Reporter and the author of City of Industry: Genealogies of Power in Southern California, and Dr. Roger Noll, Stanford Professor, nation’s foremost expert on sports economics and author of Sports, Jobs and Taxes.

We’ll have fun visiting. Remember, you’ve gotta be a happy warrior if you’re going to outlast our foes of liberty and free enterprise. Keep your cool, but be stimulated… Join us.

Calpers Loses 23% of Taxpayer Guaranteed Funds in One Year, Voters say no to Imposters, and U.S. Commerce Battles for our Future: Sat. Oct 30, 2009

Call in number: 1-800-336-2225

New York Congressional Race District 23 is a revolt of Republican registered voters against their own party. They want limited government and are demonstrating to their party officials and leaders, they mean business. Scott Wheeler, Executive Director of the National Republican Trust
drops in for a quick update on the battle that illustrates for Republican Party bosses what their voters want and what constitutes a deal breaker.

As the Fight Over Global Warming Heats Up, so does growing skepticism and concern over flaws in the climate change models and so does the frenzy of the proponents for cap-and-trade legislation in the Senate, to ram policy through without delay. Is it really a crisis? If so, what’s the crisis?

Tom Borelli, formidable advocate for free enterprise, editor of FreeEnterpriser.com and Director of the Free Enterprise Project at the National Center for Public Policy Research, joins us to talk about the proposed cap-and-trade policy, and what is shaping up as an epic battle between the U.S. Chamber of Commerce to defeat it, and the Obama Administration’s relentless pursuit to ram it through.

Who are the players? Who are the companies that have jumped ship and joined with Obama’s team? Who wins and who loses if the U.S. Chamber of Commerce loses?

Pension Funds for Public Employees Lost $600 Billion Last Year (fiscal year ended June 30), and taxpayers are on the hook. Calpers’losses, with funds guaranteed by the taxpayers, are 9.4% of that $600 billion dollars.

Marcia Fritz, President of Californians for Pension Reform, joins us to discuss the unbelievable, corrupt, costly abuse of public trust and the public’s legal obligation to cover the losses. We’ll look at how Calpers directors have played fast and loose, taken extreme and hazardous risks on investments, and incurred massive losses, down $56.2 billion in one year, 23% of the value, with funds guaranteed by taxpayers.

Worse, in a pay to play racket, former Calpers board member reaped $50 million in fees for arranging the “winning investments.” Calpers is an example for what has taken place across the country. Some would call it betrayal, graft, abuse and theft by public employee fund managers but “Calpers’ CIO says there’s no moral hazard in fund’s guarantee by taxpayers.
Ms Fritz will talk with us on how to put the brakes on this now.

The Hand that Rocks the Cradle: Dynamic Women, Deb Ferns on Women and Firepower & Marita Noon on Cap n Trade Policy Built on Sand: Sat. Oct 24, 2009

Join me on the air, Saturday at 10 AM PT on CRN Digital Talk Radio, & on
CRNtalk.com CRN 1
Call in number: 1-800-336-2225

Debbie Ferns
, author of Babe’s with Bullets (TM) joins me to talk about the launch of a TV series based on the camps, like the one I’m going to in November, set to air on the OutdoorChannel.com, starting in January.

We’ll get a taste of her second book, which she’s working on, called Our Forbidden Fruit…Females and Firearms in America. According to Deb, it’s not quite as “happy go lucky” as the first book.

This new book has a chapter devoted to the quote “I have seen the enemy-and it is us.” It talks a lot about things like apathy, and, how pro-gun folks constantly stir up turf wars against EACH OTHER! It’s something I’ve seen a lot of in my political walk in life, and Ms. Ferns agrees, YES, it’s distressing. And that’s why we have paper targets, and steel targets, to shoot at–it’s far less expensive than therapy!

Marita Noon, Executive Director of Citizens for Responsible Energy, on the latest “higher than expected” unemployment numbers and how no new manufacturing jobs are expected here in the U.S. Two recent op-eds she wrote help explain why.

Happy Talk on Green Jobs
: “we as a country have become so enamored with ‘alternative energy’ that no one looks at what it takes or where the green jobs are being created? Shouldn’t we have straight talk, not happy talk? Shouldn’t we have facts not ‘feel good?’

Staying with wind turbines, we know that their popularity is creating jobs in Mexico. But did you know they also give China a great boost?”

Built Upon the Sand: First, the cap and trade house is built upon a lie. The lie is that climate change is a crisis, that is it caused by man, that man can fix it, and that even if no other countries participate in “capping emissions,” America can still make a difference.

But what if it is not a lie? What if the crisis is as real as the global cooling crisis was perceived to be in the seventies? If that is the case, the crisis can wait a few more years. We’ve been making noise about climate change for 40 years. Now, in the midst of a major economic recession, is not the time to be enacting extreme measures that will finish off the American economy.

Also, Steve Macias, in defense of the First Amendment: Agree or Disagree, two Mexican American college students, both elected cabinet members of the Associated Student Government at Sacramento City College, President Steve Macias & Student Affairs Commissioner Monica Guzman, who also happen to be openly Christian, one Protestant, the other Catholic, Pro-life, and Republican, are being recalled, in a process that violates the official ASG Constitution, rules and ethical standards, in a rush to oust the two, persecute them, make examples of them and silence others who get out of line.

Their crime: According to The Express, the student run newspaper, “Mr. Macias is being recalled for refusing to censor an anti-abortion display on campus known as the Genocide Awareness Project on Sept 16 -17, 2009…It is unclear why Ms. Guzman is being recalled.”

They are two of a majority of the 25 cabinet board members, who supported allowing the anti-abortion organization with the over-sized graphic colored photograph posters, to participate in the school Constitution Day. The organization’s participation was approved by a majority vote of the Associated Student Government Board. Mr Macias did not vote in that decision.

The Queer-Straight Alliance and The Atheist Freethinkers Club spearhead the recall, while the school administration tacitly approves of this political lynching. Lessons to be learned by our college young adults: Either the rule of law protects everyone’s rights to free speech, or not. Either free speech is a fundamental right, or it is not. Free speech for me, but not for thee? You decide.
Contact Steve Macias on Facebook here or at Sacramento City College Free Speech Coalition on Facebook.

On the program, Ralph F. Weber CLU, CFP, GBA, REBC 2009, President of Route Three Inc., and Route Three Life Health Disability Inc., an authority on Health Care Insurance, he is a speaker with Consumers for Health Care Choices, and the publisher for the website, Stop Government Medicine.
Is Government Medicine the answer?
What’s the truth about Canada’s health care system?
Why doesn’t the math work?
What part of our system is it, that’s fundamentally flawed, and how can we fix it so that we have choices, and we don’t kill innovation or bankrupt our health industry or our economy?
I want to ask Ralph about Obama’s proposed Cash for Senior Citizens, “a $250.00 bribe to help the medicine go down,” and what does he make of Al From’s op-ed in Thursday’s WSJ,”Democrats Don’t Need the Public Option: Transformational reforms have always passed with bipartisan majorities.”
This weekend, a world premiere happens, in the spirit of the Tea Party march on Washinton D.C., in homes across the country, all that the same time. At 8 pm, ET, and 5 pm, PT, people will watch the documentary, Not Evil, Just Wrong, which challenges the dangerous and destructive hysteria about Global Warming.I am going to a gathering where there will be at least 12 other people present. Join me on the air, Saturday at 10 AM PT on CRN Digital Talk Radio, & on

Call in number: 1-800-336-2225
On the program, Richard Rider, Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association 2009 Taxpayer Hero of the Year, talks about the new-hot-off-the-presses study commissioned by the San Diego Taxpayers Association, which shows City Pension Costs Linked to Higher Taxes.

Greg Scandlen, Founder and Director of Consumers for Health Care Choices, an expert on Health Care policy, joins us to talk about Crunch Time in Congress: The Senate Finance Committee will be voting on its bill next week, then Harry Reid and the White House will cobble together a merger of the two Senate committee bills and take it to the floor. House leadership is already working on a bill to take to the floor and will probably have a vote in the next two weeks. Whatever else they do, it will certainly include:

* A mandate that you must buy health insurance and be fined or even jailed if you fail to comply.
* A major increase in the deficit to pay for all the new subsidies and bureaucracies.
* Rationing of services as determined by a federal committee.
* Increased taxes on everyone involved in health care.
* More regulation of doctors and hospitals.

Eric Singer
of “Congressional Effect Fund” talks with us about Congress’s plan to reenergize the the Community Reinvestment Act–the same act that brought us the housing market bubble, and credit market meltdown. Russ Waymire of Families Protecting the Valley & Arnold Zeiderman MD, MPH, FACOG on Health Care

Join me on the air, Saturday at 10 AM PT on CRN Digital Talk Radio, & on
CRNtalk.com Channel 1
Call in number: 1-800-336-2225On the program, on Saturday Sept 19th, I left home for 13 days. I drove to southern California, first, to go to party with a garage band in the living room of a nice house in Chino Hills, with a bunch of H.S. Alums.
During my stay in So Cal, I met with Larry Sand of California Teachers Empowerment Network, Ben Austin of the Parent’s Revolution for school reform, and Marshall Tuck of the Partnership for LA Schools about the revolution taking place in LA Unified. I will invite them to join me on the program in a few weeks. I went to Indian Wells, for the CA GOP Convention, where everyone was clear, possibility abounds, but the outcome depends on the vision, intention and integrity of all the leaders who step forward, take a stand with great purpose, and communicate boldly to inspire and enroll voters into action. On Thursday, I attended the CA Target Book Conference with presentations by top pollsters, pundits and politicians. Bottom line, voters are angry. Here’s a great recap by Joel Fox of the Fox and Hound Report.

At the CA GOP Convention, my friend Taddeus Taylor introduced me to a man he described as the most interesting man at the convention, and I agree, he was. Dr. Arnold M. Zeiderman, MD, MPH, FACOG (OB-GYN with a Masters in Public Health) was part of a panel on Health Care and he joins me to talk about that issue, from his indepth view.
On Thursday, October 1, Medical Doctors marched on Washington DC, and called it the “Million Med March.” They admit that it was far fewer than a million, and point out that fewer than 1 million doctors work in the United States, and that a lot fewer will go into practice if the government and Congress take over health care. We’ll talk with Dr. Zeiderman about health care and public health.
But Dr Zeiderman is also a long time activist for Israel. We’ll talk about Iran, defense and nuclear weapons.
Russ Waymire, farmer and founding board member of CA Families Protecting the Valley, will join us briefly for an update on the CA Water Crisis: It’s more complicated than a 2 inch fish on the Endangered Species List, and unless politicians, developers and local government agencies own up to and talk straight about the problem, they’ll find themselves under the bus, instead of on it.

I stayed up to watch Red Eye while I unpacked from my travels but it was preempted to show the POTUS, FLOTUS, and their posse all give their pitches to the Olympics Committee, and I was dismayed over the shallowness, self absorption, and presumptuousness and I was embarrassed for the Office of the President. I hoped the committee would not be as sycophantic as the U.S. Media Posse that was breathless with the certainty that this was a slam dunk. I ask, now will they see him as mere mortal? But alas, their insanity is worse than I thought. Bizarro!!!

Andrew Coulson on how to cause great education models to proliferate like ipods and FB & Eric Singer of Congressional Effect Funds: Sat. Sept. 26, 09

Join me on the air, Saturday at 10 AM PT on CRN Digital Talk Radio, & on
CRNtalk.com Channel 1
Call in number: 1-800-336-2225

On the program, Andrew Coulson was an advisor on Flunked and appeared on camera along with Ben Chavis of American Indian Public Charter School of Oakland. We’ll talk about the stories and evidence that it was based on and what they can tell us about American education.

Specifically, we will talk about excellence in k-12 schooling (for example, Ben’s success, but also other examples like KIPP), and why they don’t catch on like wildfire and spread throughout the whole country the way that Starbucks, iPods, Facebook, etc. all did. In every other field, excellence routinely scales up massively, but not in education. Why?
Mr. Coulson will touch on the story of Jaime Escalante, too, the teacher whose success teaching poor Hispanic kids in East L.A. was dramatized in the movie Stand and Deliver. It shows what happens to excellence in the public school system. In the end, it usually gets crushed.

So if we want every kid to have access to the best teaching methods and materials, how do we structure schooling like other fields where excellence is more contagious than H1N1?

On the program, Derrell Bradford deputy director of Excellent Education for Everyone E3, a school-choice advocacy group co-founded by Newark Mayor Cory Booker, joins us to talk About our Children, a live televised star studded panel event happening Sunday at Howard University.
Paul Rodriguez, comedian and civic and education activist, also on the panel on Sunday, may drop in with Derrell and I, if his flight is on time. He’s been fighting to save the farmers, and farm workers and their families in California’s Central Valley too so he’s travelling from CA to DC.
The live event on Sunday Focuses on the Faces of Poverty and Education as a Pathway to Achieving the American Dream. It features Bill Cosby. The other star panelists are Dr. Ben Chavis, former principal of American Indian Public Charter School and author of the new released book “Crazy Like a Fox: One Principal’s Triumph in the Inner City,” Dr. Daniel Amen, founder of the Amen Clinics; Ben Austin, executive director of the Los Angeles based Parents Union; ” Dr. Alvin Poussaint, professor of psychiatry at Harvard Medical School; and Randi Weingarten, former president of the United Federation of Teachers. I said it last week, and I’ll keep saying it: When and if conservatives pointedly, intentionally, and substantively take on the Cartel of public education, whoa! The political playing field will be transformed! The jig will be up! Let’s do it. Start by tuning into my show, and watch the live event on Sunday. You can participate live on both programs.

Jack Dean, the big taxpayer’s hero, editor and publisher of Pension Tsunami, and founding board member of California Pension Reform, has a lot to talk about with us. We’ll get an update on the ever expanding list of Calpers and CALstrs $100,000 Pension Clubs–Calpers’ own actuary says the system is not sustainable.
We’ll talk with Jack about Southern CA’s Metropolitan Water District’s (MWD) failed attempt (this time) to give its employees a 25% pension boost. Angry voters stopped them this past Wednesday, for now,but it’s not over; they’re coming back around in October, so be ready.

The Key to Win an Army of Allies, The Souls of Two Cultures Embodied in One Legend, The Insatiable Parasite’s Reach for Yet More: Sat. Sept.12, 09

Join me on the air, Saturday at 10 AM PT on CRN, on
CRNtalk.com Channel 1
Call in number: 1-800-336-2225
People all over the country come together today, to stop the massive expansion, the runaway train, of BIG GOVERNMENT, from Washington D.C. to your local city and town, across the nation. Bravo!
On the program, Bob Bowdon, Director of the powerful film, The Cartel, takes a break from the set of a shoot for the satire news website, The Onion, to talk with us, about his new film, (not a satire), and the real outrage over Obama’s speech to children in public schools across the land this past Tuesday. A WSJ editorial called it a missed opportunity for conservatives, who were reduced to looking foolish for their complaints about Obama’s address to the kids. When and if conservatives pointedly, intentionally, and substantively take on the Cartel of public education, whoa! The political playing field will be transformed! The jig will be up! Let’s do it. Start by tuning in, and checking out this film.

Film star & Santa Ana, CA lawyer, Jess Araujos, drops by to invite everyone in Southern California, this Saturday, to the premiere of the indy movie, The Cowboy’s Tragedy La Trajeria del Vaquero. He plays the town Sheriff, in the film, and accepted the role because it “depicts some of the most nobel and admirable qualities of the people of rural Mexico. Using the law to achieve justice is something that has been my profession and my life for over thirty years and town Sheriff was a natural fit for me” said Araujo. Conservatives and limited government activists, share a powerful connection, inherent in traditional Mexican culture depicted in this film; here’s a window into that perspective and understanding.
The legend and spirit of the Cowboy, is deep with in them, with in us, forever and always. It’s a connection of our souls that is inextricable.

Jack Dean, big taxpayer’s hero, editor and publisher of Pension Tsunami , and founding board member of California Pension Reform, he has lots to talk about with us. We’ll get an update on the lists of Calpers and CALstrs $100,000 Pension Clubs–Calpers’ own actuary says the system is not sustainable.
He’ll also talk about Southern CA’s Metropolitan Water District’s (MWD) vote next week to give its employees a 25% pension boost. If you live in So Cal, YOU’re the sucker who will pay the tab. Better stop them now, or switch to sponge baths and cactus and rock landscapes for your yards. The fee hikes will blow your mind, and blow up your budget.
The lines are open. I hope you put us on your calendar, tune in, give us a call, and join us for hot talk radio, Saturday at 10AM PT, one fast hour on CRN, Channel 1

Legislative Policy Drives Economic Returns and Politics Drive Voters: Tom Del Beccaro, Antonio Gonzales and Eric Singer Shake it Up Sat., Sept.9, 09

Join me on the air, Saturday at 10 AM PT on CRN, on
CRNtalk.com Channel 1
Call in number: 1-800-336-2225
This Saturday on the program Eric Singer
plays the market based on Govt policy and the impact it will have on business, and he wins, with a formidable track record. His two latest op-eds, published in Investor’s Business Daily, present his analysis of the Cash for Clunkers and the Health Care Plan. We’ll get a quick update from Eric on the status of the Health Care Plan.

We’ll talk with Antonio Gonzales, President of Southwest Voter Registration Education Project SVREP, and the Willie C. Velasquez Institute WCVI, about his support for the Mayor of L.A.’s recent successful campaign to make 200 failing public schools and 50 new schools open to private charter school companies’ control.
The State Dept, after Zelaya’s recent meeting with Secretary Clinton, has cut aid to Honduras, to further pressure the Honduran Govt to reinstate ousted Manuel Zelaya, but Gonzales says that Obama needs to do more.
We’ll also talk about SVREP’s efforts to mobilize around what he says is a viable opportunity for Democrats to wrest control of the Texas State Legislature from Republicans, and the area where he sees the new potential is in Dallas and Houston (to see the article you have to go to Rio Grande Guardian Newspaper and do a search for: Famed Latino group gears up to influence 2011 redistricting process).

Tom Del Beccaro, Vice Chair of the CA GOP, and publisher of Political Vanguard.com joins us to talk about the upcoming battle at the CA GOP Convention, over Decline to State DTS voters v. Republicans only, in the CA State GOP Primary elections. Also, he says the CA GOP should go after minority and women voters by emulating the Florida model–He knows Latina small business owners are a natural and the fastest growing constituency, but they vote predominantly Democrat. Can the GOP win their vote? Can they attract enough minority voters to gain a foothold in CA, to advance pro-small business/jobs, pro-owner, lower taxes, and pro-limited government policies?

The lines are open. I hope you will put us on your calandar and join us for hot talk radio, Saturday at 10AM PT on CRN, Channel 1 CRNTalk.com.

Steve Moore of the WSJ on the $9 trillion 10-yr budget deficit, the shrinking GDP and jobs losses. Also, Earthquake at L.A.Unified. Sat Aug 29,2009

Join me on the air, Saturday at 10 AM PT on CRN, on
CRNtalk.com Channel 1

[Edit posted 8/30/2009: Richard Rider, honored this past week as “Tax Fighter of the Year,” by Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association, dropped in and chatted with us for a while, until he had to run off to do a TV interview with a reporter.]

This Saturday on the program Steve Moore of the WSJ, on the Obama Administration finally raising their own projected 10 year budget deficit to 9 trillion dollars, the GDP shrinks again, another 1 percent, for the forth quarter in a row, and where are the jobs?

We’ll talk with Steve about CA’s latest ‘really creative’ solution (Not) : raise taxes on middle income earners and small business owners–the ones who haven’t left the state yet.
Last October, on the Bill Maher’s Show, Steve said: “Our nation was founded on the principle of a tax revolt. . . . The American nation was founded because Americans hate paying taxes”. He’s the author of many books, including The End of Prosperity, co authored with Arthur Laffer and Peter Tanous. And he is very excited about the Tea Party revolts he has witnessed across the nation.

Larry Sand, recently retired L.A. Unified School District teacher, and the founder and president of the California Teacher’s Empowerment Network, joins me to talk about this week’s earth shaking news that the nation’s 2nd largest school district, Los Angeles Unified, voted yes on Tuesday, to allow private charter school companies to take over 200 failing schools and to operate 50 new schools.

The union is threatening to sue and vows to fight the decision. The proposal known as the “School Choice” measure, will allow charter operators and other institutions to bid for control of 50 new schools – including 20 campuses in the 2010-2011 school year – plus 200 “failing” campuses. The change will affect more than 200,000 students representing more than one-third of the student population in the LAUSD.

The lines are open. I hope you will put us on your calandar and join us for hot talk radio, Saturday at 10AM PT on CRN, Channel 1 CRNTalk.com.

CA GOP’s Great Conundrum—it needs more women and minorities to win, but would effective outreach violate the principle of equality? Sat, Aug 22,2009

Join me on the air, Saturday at 10 AM PT on CRN, on
CRNtalk.com Channel 1

Call in number: 1-800-336-2225
This Saturday on the program Allan Hoffenblum, publisher of The California Target Book and owner of Allan Hoffenblum & Associates, a political consulting firm based in Los Angeles, joins us to talk about two recent posts he penned in the Fox and Hounds Daily.

The first, titled “California’s Republican Legislators – a White Males’ Club” certainly resonated with me, and the second, “Reach Out, Republicans, Or Lose” in which he references a recent Field Poll, has confirmed my worst nightmare, that we are stuck, and doomed fast, unless we, as a collective group, experience an immediate and dramatic paradigm shift.

Some argue it’s enough to be “pure” in conservative principles. And that wavering from that is what has got us to this point of the brink of quasi-irrelevance, in the first place.

They equate outreach to women and minorities as a surrender of all principles of equality to political correctness and race and gender based preferences.

But some will argue that what leaders are doing, and not doing, now, in the name of “conservative principle,” is not conservative, but is in fact reactionary, self defeating and self destructive.

Liberty and freedom are on the line, and it is the 11th hour. The lines are open. Join us for hot talk radio, Saturday at 10AM PT on CRN, Channel 1

Jack Cashill on What’s Wrong with CA & Jim Verboon, What’s Killing the Fish in the Delta? Environmentalist’s Hypocrisy: Sat, Aug 8, 2009

Join me on the air, Saturday at 10 AM PT on CRN, on
CRNtalk.com Channel 1

Call in number: 1-800-336-2225
Sunday marks the 40 Anniversary of the Helter Skelter Charles Manson Murders. This Saturday on the program Jack Cashill on what have we learned from what went wrong with CA, and that event was a sound alarm but we have ignored the signs. Within the last five years Jack has written five books of non-fiction — First Strike, Ron Brown’s Body, Hoodwinked: How Intellectual Hucksters Have Hijacked American Culture, Sucker Punch: The Left Hook that Dazed Ali and Killed King’s Dream and his latest, What’s the Matter with California. Three of them have cracked Amazon’s top ten list.

Jim Verboon, Central Valley Farmer joins us. Citizen Activists’s investigative reporting sheds new light on the corruption and abuse by politicians, including House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, and Congressman George Miller, and the radical environmentalist groups who are blaming and starving the Central Valley Farmers and communities. It’s not the environment they’re protecting. What is it really about?

“There is a lot of hypocrisy in the debate, especially from environmentalists who want to protect the sensitive Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta by limiting the pumping of agricultural water. Yet we don’t hear a peep out of them when Sacramento dumps treated sewage into the Delta.” Fresno Bee, August 2, 2009
Why are the fish in the Delta dying? Lower rainfall is not the cause of the “drought” in the Valley. Rainfall won’t solve the waste pollution situation in the Delta—in fact it’s the worst case scenario. It intoxicates more; it causes overflow, spills and leaks.

Why do extremist environmentalists allow cities around the Delta, and the politicians who represent them, to get away with this?

Where are the Latino Leaders and elected officials who claim to be a voice for and care about the Hispanic Community? Why do they ignore the massive food lines, and unemployment levels reaching 20 percent in general and 50% in the predominantly Hispanic communities in Central Valley? Businesses, community leaders and residents are helping with make shift food drives. The foodlines are so long now, kids with their families, have been turned away hungry. The Latinos and non latinos who live there don’t want welfare! They want work! They want dignity! They want water!

The farmers and their way of life is being dried up, but the water they are robbed does not solve the problems caused by the high ammonia concentrations and other problems caused by the affluent and voter rich liberal communities along the Delta Estuary. It dilutes the toxins, and delays the inevitable.
Tune in to find out what is really killing the fish and what will solve the problem.
Water is life. Control it and you hold life in a death grip.

CA’s Education Budget and Results & Wine Grower, 4th Generation Native of Central Valley, Expert on Clean Water Act on Water Wars: Sat, Aug 1, 2009

New Time and New Channel on CRN Digital Talk Radio

Join me on the air, Saturday at 10 AM PT on CRN, on
CRNtalk.com Channel 1

Call in number: 1-800-336-2225
This Saturday on the program Dr. Alan Bonsteel, President of California Parents for Educational Choice CPEC, joins us on the CA Budget battles and the impact on education funding, politics, policy and possibilities. CPEC is to thank for the push and progress to expose the real drop-out rates in California’s Public School System. With the fiscal disaster in Sacramento, the political and public education class are scrambling to cover up the numbers. California has the 37th worst graduation rate (68 percent).

“…And what have Golden State taxpayers gotten for nearly $70 billion spent on K-12 education and the behemoth educational bureaucracy? Test scores in reading, science, mathematics, and writing massively lag the national averages. Morgan Quitno Press ranks California 47th place in the country based on its proficiency results. And California has the 37th worst graduation rate (68 percent).” (World Magazine Aug 09 issue)

Also, Brad Goehring, born in 1965 in Lodi, is a fourth-generation San Joaquin Valley farmer. He has owned and operated Goehring Vineyards, Inc. since 1989. He is recognized nationally as a leading expert on the Clean Water Act and has been called to testify and submit written testimony to Congress, and is a Congressional Candidate for the 11th District of CA.

He joins us to talk about the radical environmentalist politics destroying the Ag industry in CA. We’ll talk about water and California’s Cap and Trade Legislation, AB32, signed into law by Gov Schwarzenegger in Sept 2006, and the impact it has had on CA’s jobs and economy.

We’ll also ask him about a recent interview he did with Debra Saunders of the SFChronicle, in which his experience with and perspective on immigration policy was trivialized and distorted. The favored bias, argued by Mark Krikorian in that piece, advocates zero tolerance for immigration of workers, and expects farmers to mechanize harvest jobs or we should instead import our food from foreign Countries–i.e. Be dependent on foreign food, just like we are on foreign oil. Not a good idea.

Dan Tripp, National Political Director with Americans for Limited Government travels the country setting up state-based, non-profit activist networks and is heavily involved in the state ballot initiative process. His most recent victory was passage of Colorado Amendment 54, The Clean Government Act, which passed 51 to 49 percent in November 2008.

Today, Dan is organizing against Obamacare. His team has strategically organized in roughly 85 of the marginally Democratic congressional districts in order to put pressure on them to vote against Obamacare. Comedian Paul Rodriguez on Water & Life in CA–The Coalition of farmers and farm workers v the Extremist Environmentalists, Sat, July 11, 2009

New Time and New Channel on CRN Digital Talk Radio!

Latin King of Comedy Paul Rodriguez joins me this Saturday, to talk about the battle for water–life for the people of the Central Valley.
The photo on the right is from a “Thank You” concert on May 9th at the Firebaugh H.S. Football Stadium, for the families who participated in the march from Mendota to the San Luis Resevoir in the March for Water. He didn’t turn away anyone who came up to him and asked for a photo with him. He sponsored the concert, food and refreshments.

On Wednesday, July 8th, Ken Mettler, President of the CA Republican Assembly, an organization that bills itself as Fiscal & Social Conservatives, “The Conscience of the Republican Party,” distributed a press release quoting Mettler:
Sacramento Fiddles while Farms Dry Up
Agriculture, one of the largest industries in the state, needs immediate action from the State Government, so that farmers do not go out of business. However, the state legislature, is fiddling in Sacramento with radical environmentalism, tax increases, illegal alien coddling, and preserving unionized government jobs.

“The legislature is at a historic cross road” stated Ken Mettler, President of the California Republican Assembly (CRA). He continued “It can continue to drive the State into fiscal collapse while one of its most important industries perishes or it can pass real meaningful cuts in the state budget and prioritize the needs of the farmers in the Central Valley.”

“However,” warned Mettler “the State is in no position to issue bonds to finance the infrastructure improvements. Its bonds are now at or near junk status and past bond debt is simply too high to tolerate any more such programs.”

What the State needs to do is old fashioned responsible budgeting of funds to begin and finish improvements to the water delivery system. “The best system for any government infrastructure program is a pay as you go method.” stated Mettler. “In this recession the State is able to command a better price for its construction dollar. “

Further Metter stated, “The Governor needs to declare a state of emergency so the State can suspend the normal rules for pubic construction projects similar to what happened after the Northridge Earthquake in getting the highway bridges built in record time and under budget.”

To save the Central Valley farmers, the State needs to act now.

Comedian Paul Rodriguez is Chair of the CA Latino Water Coalition. He joins us to tell the story, from his own personal perspective, of the farmers and farm workers of the Central Valley. What would it take to prevail? What does he see is possible? How has this battle over water changed him?
Ty Greeves, President of the San Jose Chapter of CA Republican Assembly joins me to talk about the Republican Party and Immigration.

Independence Day with Steve Poizner on Liberty, Anti-terror Policy & Iran, and Manny Klausner on Sotomayor and Equality, Sat. July 4, 2009

Join me on the air, Saturday at 11 AM PST

CRN Channel 5 (On the Internet)
Call in number for the program:800-336-2225
This Saturday, This Saturday on the program:
California Insurance Commissioner Steve Poizner on Monday ordered all insurance companies doing business in the state to report investments that might benefit Iran, investments he said harm national security as well as the state’s insurance buyers. A bold move, smart and effective, a model for other states to follow. Steve will talk about his plan. We’ll also ask him what he would do in this current situation with CA’s State budget crisis, and what about the water crisis in the Central Valley?

Manny Klausner, Trustee of Reason Foundation and co-author of CA Prop 209, which banned race based hiring and admissions by State of CA government agencies, joins me to talk about Supreme Court Justice nominee, Sonia Sotomayor and the Supreme Court’s ruling on Monday, against the City of New Haven’s discrimination case.

The Supreme Court ruled that a group of white and Hispanic firefighters in New Haven, Conn., were unfairly denied promotions because of their race after the city decided not to certify the results of a civil service exam in order to avoid a charge of discrimination from a different group of firefighters.
The city of New Haven said it decided to throw out the test to avoid a lawsuit from black firefighters because it might have been vulnerable to claims that the exam had a “disparate impact” on minorities in violation of the Civil Rights Act.
The court’s 5-4 vote decision reverses a ruling that nominee Sonia Sotomayor supported as a court of appeals judge.
What’s more striking is that the court was unanimous (9-0), in rejecting the Sotomayor panel’s specific holding…that New Haven’s decision to spurn the test results must be upheld based solely on the fact that highly disproportionate numbers of blacks had done badly on the exam and might file a “disparate-impact” lawsuit — regardless of whether the exam was valid or the lawsuit could succeed.
Should Republicans force a vigorous debate over Sotomayor’s appointment hearings? Or should they avoid any conflict? Join us for hot talk radio, Saturday at 11 PT on CRN.
